ABOUT COMTO

COMTO's mission is to ensure a level playing field and maximum participation in the transportation industry for all through advocacy, information sharing, training, education and professional development.

Founded in 1971, the Conference of Minority Transportation Officials (COMTO) was created to provide a forum for all professionals in the transportation industry.

We ensure transportation serves all. We believe that all lived experience moves the world. We believe that the leadership of a massive industry that has the responsibility of transporting all people all the time should reflect the complex mosaic of those they serve. We believe that commitment to uplifting all people moves us forward every day.

The organization membership includes individuals, groups, transportation agencies, private sector corporations, non-profit organizations, and Historically Underutilized Businesses (HUBs).

COMTO provides opportunities in the transportation industry for participation and advancement, through advocacy, training, and professional development.

COMTO will serve as an advocate in all aspects of the transportation industry.

In 2019, a group of bright, determined and like-minded individuals set out to establish COMTO Pittsburgh. Their courage to start a new chapter speaks volumes about who they were, and we’re honored to follow in their footsteps.

Our chapter represents a group of diverse people who always strive for the highest level of excellence, as our founders intended. Shared goals and interests in areas of service, academics and building solid relationships hold our chapter together and define who are we.
